A!06: Hikikomori EP

hi·ki·ko·mo·ri
hiˌkēkəˈmôri/
noun
  1. (in Japan) the abnormal avoidance of social contact, typically by adolescent males.
    • a person who avoids social contact.

A 3" cd-r of three tracks that will take you on a trip of repetitive riffs and drones towards no specific destination. Sleeve and layout are handmade, with Chris D's sigil donning the front cover and enclosed disc. This is the sound of one man's isolation and introversion; of shutting one's self in a room with no other way of self expression. Much more musical than previous releases, this EP showcases a sense of melancholic melody (even musicianship) present before, but now pushed to the forefront. Limited to 18 physical copies, which can be bought here. If you're not into physical media, then you can download it here.

A!05 "BYLL"

So last year my tape "BYLL" (short for Backyard Lucha Libre) got reviewed at Raised By Gypsies, a website dedicated to reviewing independent music, with focus on cassette tapes. Read the review here, and if you're interested in hearing said tape, go here. Tapes can also be purchased in the store, but I just found a bag full of more copies, so you can receive a free one by ordering anything else.

A!04 Winter Doldrums very last copy

Winter Doldrums (A!04) was an "exercise in activity" in the very early spring of 2010, the release of my boredom after a very dull winter. It became one of the last rays of light before two very dark years began. Two c12 tapes with dreamy soundscapes recorded straight to boom box from my 20 watt amplifier. The j-cards, put together and written by hand like all Amazified! releases (until A!07), feature small bits of bigger pieces of "artwork" of mine. You even get and embarrassing early version of my sigil in the top corner of the first tape. This is the very LAST copy for sale. Long ago I learned the lesson of not keeping at least one copy of a release for my own personal archive, so when this is gone this is gone. You may order it here or download it here.

A!07 "Paramnesia" Pet Coffins/Chris Dutrieux

Phil (Pet Coffins) and I met at a house show I played and we immediately knew we were kindred spirits. We were both obsessed with tapes and noise, so of course we were gonna talk about doing a split. Now, 9 years later, we finally got around to putting our tape together. Since it has taken damn near a decade, we both chose some older stuff to put on here. Or its all we had laying around at the moment. The j-card cover is a small part of a bigger piece I've been working on for almost as long as I've know Phil, and each of our respective sides is etched with our respective insignias. We then wrapped each tape with a thick brown paper and sealed it with "sealable candle wax" and stamp that Phil apparently "found" one day. We're both incredibly happy to announce that Paramnesia is ready for the world. Only 18 copies were made, as that's the amount of blank tapes with the same length that I had laying around. Phil and I each took a few for ourselves, so there's very few left. We hope you enjoy. Drugs may enhance the listening process.
